Does it hurt?
The sensation will vary from client to client. The sensation that is felt depends upon the amount of melanin found in the skin. The sensation is described as a heat sensation and a few clients say it is light mild sunburn after the treatment.
What to expect?
Skin rejuvenation and wrinkle treatments will show mild redness of the skin initially after the treatment. This is a good sign the treatment has worked and sufficient heat has been pushed into the epidermis.
Pigmentation treatments will initially turn darker after the treatment and then a crusting may appear on the skin which must shed off naturally up to 10 days after the treatment. The skin will then appear more even in colour and the pigmented lesions would be lighter in colour.
How many sessions are needed?
A course of 6 treatments is required for full results, however results are visible after just one session. Clients are advised to have a treatment once per month (4 week intervals). Future treatments may be needed as results depend on the client’s lifestyle.
Top-up treatments may be carried out as and when the client feels, with 4 weekly intervals between treatments.
Side effects after treatment?
Slight redness which subsides within a few hours of treatment. Aloe Vera gel soothes and cools the area after treatment and may be used for as long as the client wishes.
Pigmentation may scab and fall off within 14 days. Do not tamper with this scab (such as scratching or picking) but it can be covered with make-up.
Uncommon side effects include hypo/hyper pigmentation, swelling, itching or minor bruising; these can be a result of not using SPF 30+ and UV/Sun exposure.
